Biometry is a technology of security based on the recognition of a physical and nonnegotiable characteristic of people, such as the fingerprint. The biometric system include a reception device and a biometric software wich the read the phisical sample and transforms it in a numeric sequence. In the case of the recognition of the fingerprint,  in any case the image of the print is extracted, but a sequence of numbers. Applications embrace a great number of sectors: Sure access to PC´s and nets, protection of electronic files, control schedule and control of physical access to a room of restricted access.

The main advantage of this technology is that it is much safer and more comfortable that the traditional systems based on the passwords or cards. The access through the biometry to a PC or a restricted room doesn't depend on something that we know or that we have and that they can steal us or to copy; it depends on what we are.

In the case of the fingerprint, the device captures the sample and the biometric software transforms the characteristic points of this sample in a numeric sequence through a mathematical algorithm that doesn't have inverse. It is for this reason for which the biometric technology is at the present time the system of more reliable security. This numeric sequence, call registration pattern, it is stored in a sure database and it will be good for the following comparisons every time that the authorized person wants to consent to the system.
